Leicestershire County Council has gone out to tender with a framework contract for plant hire with operator worth an estimated £15 million.

The authority is looking to put a client specific multi-lot, multi supplier framework agreement in place for the hire of plant and haulage (with operator).
Leicestershire County Council will be the principal user of the framework - Coventry City Council and Leicester City Council may also potentially use the framework.
The contract is being tendered in the following Lots:
- Wheeled Backhoe Loader, with operator
- Tracked Excavator (360), with operator
- Wheeled Excavator (360° 'Rubber Duck'), with operator
- Road Sweeper, with operator
- Agricultural Tractor, with operator
- Truck With Boom/Platform Lift, with operator
- Hydraulic Breaker, with operator
- Wheeled Excavator (180° c/w with bucket and lifting forks), with operator
- Haulage (tipper lorries), with driver
The framework agreement has the option to extend for up to a further 12 months.
The intention is to put a framework agreement in place with several operators – interested suppliers can submit tenders for all Lots
Anticipated contract start date is 26 October 2021, ending on 25 October 2024.
