United Utilities has gone out to tender with a framework contract for mechanical on-site services and off-site fabrication worth an estimated £20 million.

The water company is looking to combine the mechanical disciplines of its former AMS frameworks into a single well defined framework. The contract is being tendered in the following two Lots:
Lot 1 mechanical on-site services (£15 million)
Lot 2 off-site fabrication (£5 million)
Scope of services to be provided under Lot 1 will cover mechanical on site services, repairs, maintenance and any inspections, including any resulting remedial works of the mechanical installations on various sites throughout United Utilities' operational area.
Services covered under Lot 2 will include pre-inspection, manufacture and installation of various types of metal and plastic constructed equipment ranging from handrails, flooring, walkways, companion ways, vertical steel ladders and access covers.
Initial contract term is two years with further extension options.
