Yorkshire Water tenders £10m river-wall construction contract

Yorkshire Water has gone out to tender with a contract to design and build 7 separate fish passages worth an estimated £10 million.

The fish passages are required in order for Yorkshire Water to comply with regulatory duties under the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP). There are currently 7 fish passage projects scoped for AMP7 with the potential expansion of scope for additional projects during AMP7 and into AMP8.

The water company is looking for a supplier capable of providing an end-to-end design and build solution for fish passes, which includes the upfront ground assessment and feasibility studies up till final construction and handover.

The 7 pre-defined locations for the passes are:

  • River Burn
  • Airebank Mills
  • Cheesebottom Weir
  • Cononley Weir
  • Farnley Beck
  • Schole Hill
  • Watson Mill

The initial contract is for five years with a further three 12 month extension options.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 25th November 2018 – click here to access the tender documentation
