Taverham in Norfolk will be protected by the latest in innovative and sustainable flood prevention measures in the future as work on the East of England’s biggest sustainable drainage system (SuDS) gets underway this week.

Kier Group plc has this morning announced that it has attained preferred bidder status on two new long-term contracts with Anglian Water under its AMP6 programme, with a combined total value of up to £130 million. Both contracts start in 2015 and are expected to run for 15 years.

Anglian Water looks set to roll out more pump optimisation in AMP6 following a successful project on its DMA water network using innovative automatic pump pressure technology which has generated annual cost savings of £28,000-plus.

Anglian Water is starting work next month to protect the shorelines at Rutland reservoir as part of a £10 million, two year project, to secure more than 18km of shoreline at three drinking water reservoirs across the region.
