National water retailer, Wave, (the trading name for Anglian Water Business (National) Ltd) has secured a contract for water retail services from the Police and Crime Commissioner for Durham worth an estimated £480,000.

The direct award from NEPO311 Water Retail Services is a sole-supplier framework agreement for the provision of water, wastewater and ancillary services. NEPO has appointed Wave,the third largest water retailer in the market supplying over 300,000 customers, to provide water supply and sewerage services to eligible nonhousehold customers in accordance with the Water Act 2014.
Contract start date is 1st April 2025 with an end date for the initial contractperiod of 31st March 2028. The contract has a potential contract extension option with an end date of of 31st March 2029.
The contract was awarded without prior publication of a call for competition to Wave - the only organisation in the bidding for the work.
