Manchester City Council has put a single operator framework contract in place for the retail provision of water services, sewerage and trade effluent services, from the wholesaler, United Utilities worth an estimated £5 million.

Although the quantities and descriptions in the tender are those used and required by Manchester City Council (MCC), the framework is open to and may be used by other authorities in the northwest and Manchester partners.
Currently, the framework is used for the Manchester City Council and Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC)operational portfolios and many associated MCC and Bolton MBC educational establishments.
The MCC operational portfolio comprises 522 SPIDs (Supply Points), 256 MSNs ( Meter Serial Number) and approximately 323,000 m3 of combined annual consumption.
The Bolton MBC operational portfolio comprises 276 SPIDs, 176 MSNs and approximately 103,000 m3 of combined annual consumption.
Anglian Water Business (National) Limited has been awarded the contract – one of three firms who bid for the framework.
The contract will be for an intial term of 2 years with the option to extend for up to an additional 2 years.
HUBER Technology UK & Ireland are inviting people to register for their March webinar where they will be providing information about HUBER water intake screens for municipal and industrial applications.
