Dwr Cymru Welsh Water tenders £479 million AMP8/9 Wastewater Network Services contract

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has gone out to tender with a major AMP8 contract for Wastewater Network Services with a potential estimated value of up to £479 million.

The water company is seeking to procure Wastewater Network Services for AMP 8 and early AMP 9 for a period of up to 8 years.

The purpose of the Wastewater Network Services Framework is to provide customer focused services for the planned/reactive/emergency and maintenance works on Welsh Water’s wastewater network.

The contract is being tendered in 5 Lots on a regional and functional basis for Network Operating Services and Repair and Maintenance with a combined geographical Repair and Maintenance Lot. Details of each individual Lot are as follows:

Lot 1 - Hereford, Powys & Gwent – Wastewater Network Operating Services (NOS) (£12 million)

The works under Lot 1 will include but not be limited to Wastewater network operating services on a 24/7/365 standby service; planning and scheduling; cyclic desilting; CCTV investigation; response to flooding and pollution incidents; maintenance and minor repairs of mechanical CSO screens; minor sewer rehabilitation; Developer Services and Sewer Adoption activities.

Lot 2: Southwest, Swansea, Valleys & Cardiff – Wastewater Network Operating Services (NOS) (£42.4 million)

The works under Lot 2 will include but not be limited to Wastewater network operating services on a 24/7/365 standby service; planning and scheduling; cyclic desilting; CCTV investigation; response to flooding and pollution incidents; maintenance and minor repairs of mechanical CSO screens; minor sewer rehabilitation; Developer Services and, Sewer Adoption activities.

Lot 3 – South Wales, Hereford, & Powys - Wastewater Repair and Maintenance (£131.2 million)

The works under Lot 3 will include but not limited to the following: Wastewater network apparatus repair and maintenance; 24/7/365 standby service; planning and scheduling provision; onsite investigation works; sewer rehabilitation; working on or near live pressurised pipelines; maintenance & minor repairs of mechanical CSO screens; Developer Services and Sewer Adoption activities.

Lot 4: North Wales - Wastewater Network Repair & Maintenance, & Network Operating Services Agreement (£90.4 million)

The works under Lot 4 will include but not be limited to the following:

Wastewater network apparatus repair and maintenance; 24/7/365 standby service; planning and scheduling provision; on-site investigation works; sewer rehabilitation; working on or near live pressurised pipelines; wastewater network operating services; cyclic desilting activity; CCTV investigation; response to flooding and pollution incidents; maintenance and minor repairs of mechanical CSO screens; Developer Services and Sewer Adoption activities.

Lot 5 – All Wales Repair & Maintenance, and Network Operating Services in North (£221.6 million)

The works under Lot 5 will include but not be limited to the following: Wastewater network apparatus repair and maintenance; 24/7/365 standby service; planning and scheduling provision; on-site investigation works; sewer rehabilitation; working on or near live pressurised pipelines; wastewater network operating services; cyclic desilting activity; CCTV investigation; response to flooding and pollution incidents; maintenance and minor repairs of mechanical CSO screens; Developer Services and Sewer Adoption activities.

Interested suppliers will be permitted to submit a response for one or more Lots, either as a standalone Economic Operator or as a Key Subcontractor.

Initial contract term will be for an initial period of 48 months with the option to extend for a further 48 months at intervals of no less than 12 months.
