Wessex Water has unveiled the partners that will help deliver its investment over the next five years and beyond.

The successful bidders, a combination of new and existing partners, are:

  • Design and Build Projects: Mott MacDonald Bentley, Kier Integrated Services, Galliford Try Construction and Morgan Sindall Construction.
  • Design Consultancy Services: AECOM, AtkinsRealis UK, Stantec UK, Mott MacDonald, Pell Frischmann Consultants, Sweco UK and Gutteridge, Haskins and Davey.
  • Mechanical and Electrical: Kier Integrated Services, Galliford Try Constuction, Bridges (Electrical Engineers), Trant Engineering and OCU Utility Services.
  • Civil Works: Envolve Infrastructure, Mott MacDonald Bentley, Kier Integrated Services and Knights Brown Construction.

The water and sewerage company is teaming up with new and existing collaborators to roll out its ambitious programme of work throughout its region – which includes Dorset, Somerset and Bristol, most of Wiltshire and part of Gloucestershire and Hampshire – within the AMP8 investment period (2025-30).

The framework agreements, in place for up to 11 years, start immediately and have been designed to encourage a collaborative, flexible and agile approach that will be required as the industry grapples with an £88 billion investment programme across the country.

Wessex Water’s Engineering and Delivery Director Paul Lewis said:

“These awards will enable a much wider reach for the delivery, training, development, secondments and apprenticeships across the partnership for a programme that is more than double the size of our AMP7 (2020-25) commitments.”

Envolve Infrastructure’s Managing Director Jamie Prichard added:

“Wessex Water have been a core client for Envolve Infrastructure for the last 17 years. We have operated as their Strategic Partner spanning their Treatment and Network workstreams and have established dedicated in-region Management and Delivery Teams who have ensured our collaborative success focused on our shared priorities of Safety, Quality, Time & Cost.

“Securing first place as a Civil Works Framework Delivery Partner provides an unparalleled opportunity for our loyal Staff and Delivery Teams and aligns with our aspirations for continued organic growth as we extend our support to Wessex Water through AMP 8 & 9.”

As well as traditional ‘grey’ construction projects, Wessex Water is continuing to innovate and have greater focus on alternative solutions – including its commitment to deliver 36 nature-based solutions to treat ground influent storm overflows.
