Yorkshire Water has gone out to tender with an AMP8 contract for sewer network monitoring hardware and services worth an estimated £81 million.

The water company is looking to put a contract in place with a partner(s) who have a proven track record of providing sewer alarm monitoring hardware and associated services to support with its ambition to reduce internal and external sewer flooding events throughout AMP8.
The requirement covers the following services:
- Hardware provision - close property loggers (Lot 1) and sewer network monitors (Lot 2)
- Network Provision - Install, exchange and maintenance services
Yorkshire Water is seeking a relationship with a supplier(s) who can deliver the full end-to-end solution.
The contract is being tendered in two separate Lots:
Lot 1 Customer Sewer Alarms (£24,500,000)
Scope includes:
- Hardware Provision - Close property loggers, which are installed in customer gulleys / drains to monitor potential flood risks and notify YWS of blocked drains
- Network Provision - for receiving alarm data
- Install, exchange and maintenance services
Lot 2 Network Monitors (£57,000,000)
Scope includes:
- Hardware Provision - Sewer Network Monitors, which are installed in sewers and monitor the levels of the sewer network, to mitigate potential floods
- Network Provision - for receiving alarm data
- Install, exchange and maintenance services
Where a partnership, Alliance or similar is required to deliver the end-to-end service requirements of each Lot, Yorkshire Water require a lead bidder to be identified, whom the contractual relationship will be established with. Yorkshire Water will be considering both Data As A Service and Asset Ownership model.
Initial contract is 5 years with a further extension option of up to 3 years.
