Southern Water has gone out to to tender with a contract for small and large AMR/AMI water meters which (including extension options into AMP8) could be worth up to an estimated £60 million in total.
The contract is being tendered in two separate Lots:
Lot 1 - Small Meters (15-25mm) (£58 million)
Lot 2 - Large Meters (40 - 300mm) (£2 million)
The water company is looking to put a framework agreement in place with a single operator.
Southern Water has pointed out that while the overall contract value has been stated at the upper limit of £60,000,000, the initial contract term of 3 years should be considered as £5,000,000.
The water company says that if the contract should be extended further ( for periods up to 5 years in total) and utilised for any future mass exchange programme, then the upper value may be reached.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 3 October 2022 – click here to access the tender documentation.
