The North London Waste Authority has awarded a contract for the EcoPark South Construction Works for the North London Heat and Power Project (NLHPP) worth an estimated £78.85 million.

VINCI Construction UK Ltd has won the work, which had an initial estimated value of £106.64 million - one of two companies in the bidding for the contract.
The wide-ranging contract includes the laying and installation of new utilities and services to the resource recovery facility. The works to the existing utilities include the relocation or decommissioning of existing and the laying of new pipes, cables and systems for portable water, wastewater, surface water, foul water, process water, electricity, gas, and CCTV, telecoms and data.
An estimated 74% of the contract – around £58 million – is likely to be subcontracted to third parties.
The works are on the critical path for the delivery of the NLHPP for the development of a replacement energy recovery facility and associated works at the Edmonton EcoPark.
The North London Waste Authority went out to tender in July with a major £683 million contract for infrastructure and works to construct an Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) for the North London Heat and Power Project, including a raw water pre-treatment plant and a wastewater treatment plant.
The site for the works, Edmonton EcoPark, is an operational waste management site where LondonEnergy Ltd, a private company wholly owned by the authority, operates an existing Energy from Waste (EfW) facility.
