The Dover Harbour Board has gone out to tender with a contract for construction works on marine structures and bridges worth an estimated £135 million.
The works are part of the Harbour Board’s major re-development of the western docks and marina at Dover.
The marine civil engineering work under the contract includes the construction of two new berths 250 metres and 300 metres respectively, a new marina, navigation channel with bridge and lock gates with associated dredging and reclamation.
The procurement is related to a project financed by European Union funds known as the BRIDGE project.
A key selection criterion will be a requirement for tenderers to demonstrate experience of successfully delivering marine civil engineering, dredging and reclamation works of a similar size, complexity and nature within a working harbour within the European Union within the last 5 years.
