One of the UK’s leading independent energy brokerage and consultancy organisations is targeting new business in the water sector in the run-up to the opening of the non-household retail market in April next year.
Torse already provides hundreds of ongoing clients with support for their energy billing, payments and contract obligations, with more than 100,000 business energy contracts placed since 1994.
Now the energy broker, which specialises providing clients nationwide with services to obtain the best gas and electricity prices based upon energy consumption and projected usage, is turning its attention to the water sector.
With over 17 years experience in the energy market, Torse’ operations activity is centered in Nottingham. Torse has now launched an awareness campaign informing its clients that it will also be able to offer water supplies in addition to its existing gas and electricity services.
Torse has outlined the procedure prospective customers for water services should take:
- Customers should firstly provide information about their water sites including their most recent bill, to enable Torse to present them with a range of options to choose from, simplify the whole process and help find the right package at the best price.
- Once customers have provided their site information, Torse can organise their portfolio and go to the market to look for the best available prices. If the client chooses to accept one of Torse’s offers, Torse will then offer water management services for their portfolio and deal with any issues that may arise.
- Torse will notify customers when the contract with their existing supplier is approaching its end date and can help customers prepare for the next round of procurement, as well as handling the change of tenancy process if customers obtain a new property, or leave a property mid contract.
The energy broker is informing customers that de-eregulation of water will give eligible businesses, charities and the public sector the opportunity to switch their water service provider in a similar way to gas and electricity – providing Torse with an opportunity to ‘shop around’ for the best available business contract as they currently do with gas and electricity for customers throughout the UK.
Torse Ltd said it is making a head start by establishing relationships with water companies to provide both stability and reassurance for current and new energy customers when choosing their water suppliers.
The energy broker is also explaining to clients that some regional water suppliers will stop supplying water to business customers after the deregulation and another water and wastewater company will take over their services. Highlighting the benefits from the potential savings business customers could make, Torse says there should be lower prices with more competition between service providers.
Torse said it is “following the market closely and conducting analysis” in order to provide the most relevant information to customers. “The skills acquired from our long term success in the gas and electricity industries means that we can be trusted to be a reliable broker in water”, the company says.
