The Scottish Forum on Natural Capital has launched a 'Natural Capital Navigation' signposting resource to help businesses to protect and enhance the natural capital on which they depend.
The Natural Capital Navigation resource provides access to briefings, tools, resources & guidance to help engage board members and practitioners with natural capital approaches for business. The page includes resources to introduce businesses to the natural capital concept as well as resources for businesses to embed natural capital thinking within their operations.
The site includes a briefing paper on the role of peatlands in water quality. It also features resources specifically focused on key sectors of the Scottish economy with finance, food & drink, clothing and land management currently included.
The pages bring together resources relevant to Scottish business from some of the world's leading organisations working on natural capital including the Natural Capital Coalition, World Forum on Natural Capital, World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the Prince's Accounting for Sustainability Project and the International Integrated Reporting Council.
The resource also includes briefings on the recently launched Natural Capital Protocol, a framework which provides detailed guidance for businesses on how they embed considerations of natural capital into their strategy and operations in order to improve decision making.
