Ofwat is reminding interested organisations that the entry period for the Water Breakthrough Challenge 4 is closing soon.
The fourth round of the Water Breakthrough Challenge (Breakthrough 4) will make approximately £40 million available to highly collaborative water-sector innovations, aiming to deliver benefits for customers, society and the environment.
Entries to the Catalyst Stream (<£2mil funding) must be submitted by 3 January 2024, whilst stage 2 for the Transform Stream (>£2mil funding) closes on 10 January 2024.
As in previous rounds of the Water Breakthrough Challenge, entries must be submitted in partnership with a water company (including NAVs) in England or Wales. Organisations new to the water sector who would like to participate in Breakthrough 4 are encouraged to begin reaching out to water companies and Spring, the water sector’s centre of excellence for innovation.
Water companies who would like help to brief their staff or supply chain about the opportunities presented by Breakthrough 4 can email the delivery team.
Organisation who have submitted entries will be in the running to be awarded a share of the £40 million funding to roll out fresh initiatives to tackle the challenges faced by the water sector of England and Wales.
