Ofwat consults on role flow limiters could play in environmental incentive payments

Ofwat has launched a new consultation on the role flow limiters could play in environmental incentive payments.

The regulator is seeking views on how the Environmental Incentives Common Framework(EICF) should refer to flow limiters (devices that reduce flow through a pipe, including both flow regulators and flow restrictors).

Specifically, Ofwat is considering the role that flow limiters might play in helping developers qualify for environmental incentive payments.

To read the consultation document and submit a response, visit Ofwat’s Citizen Space consultation platform.

Closing date to submit responses to the consultation is 9 September 2026. Click here to access the consultation online.
