MPs launch new inquiry into Flood Re insurance proposals

The House of Commons Select Committee for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has launched a new inquiry into the Government’s Flood Re insurance proposals.

The Committee will hold a one-off oral evidence session later today.

The Committee has already considered insurance for flooding in its 2013 Managing Flood Risk inquiry and during its pre-legislative scrutiny of the Draft Water Bill.

The new inquiry will consider the progress that has been made on the Flood Re proposals since the Committee last took evidence. It will also consider the response of the insurance industry to the recent floods and the impact of the recent floods on the Flood Re proposals.
