The Environment Agency is using a colony of tiny weevils to control the problematic Azolla water weed.

Engineers at Thames Water are starting work  to replace and increase the capacity of a sewer pipe in Surrey.

Hyder Consulting PLC, the multi-national advisory and design consultancy, has published a trading update today in advance of its Interim Results for the six months ending 30 September 2011 which will be announced on 23 November 2011.

Thames super-sewer called into question

According to Hammersmith and Fulham Council, the case for Thames Water's 'super sewer' has been “rocked by explosive new evidence” from the expert who originally advised that the scheme should go ahead.

Today sees the opening of Welsh Water’s  new anaerobic digestion plant at its wastewater works in Tremorfa, Cardiff.

The Environment Agency has announced proposals to increase some abstraction licence charges by an average 10% per annum for the next three years.

Northern Ireland Environment Minister Alex Attwood has announced the establishment of two independent groups to examine measures to improve the planning system to aid economic recovery.

New sewer system for Hampshire village

Thames Water engineers will start work next month on replacing the main sewer pipe for the Hampshire village of Holybourne.

Carbon Trust Advisory analysis has found that businesses which invest in renewable energy could make average returns of 11-12%, with the potential for returns in excess of 20%.

Welsh Water fined for over-abstraction

Welsh Water has been fined £2000 plus £4000 in costs for pumping too much water out of the River Usk on 35 separate occasions.
