Warm global temperatures continue in 2011

This year is set to be the 11th warmest in a record spanning more than 150 years, according to climate scientists from the Met Office and the University of East Anglia.

The European Environment Agency has published a report predicting huge renewable energy growth during the coming decade, if the EU countries meet their projections.

Government sets out National Infrastructure Plan

The Government has published an updated National Infrastructure Plan containing major commitments to improve the UK’s transport and broadband networks as well as steps to attract major new private sector investment.

Water industry regulator Ofwat has launched a new consultation on its policy principles for charges for new connections in order to provide greater clarity to stakeholders about the provision of new infrastructure.

The Government is due to announce a £multi-billion infrastructure investment programme aimed at kick-starting the economy later today.

Leading management consultancy PricewaterhouseCoopers has said that the upcoming Water White Paper will herald some major changes in the water sector.

Pennon Group, owners of South West Water, has this morning announced its latest financial results for the half year ended 30 September 2011.

The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham Council has called an urgent public meeting to challenge what it describes as “Thames Water’s ‘ludicrous’ decision to dump the giant super sewer drive shaft on a residential street in Fulham.”
