SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT has signed a strategic partnership agreement worth €22.5 million over five years with AZERSU, Azerbaijan’s national water company.
Under the contract, SUEZ will provide training and knowledge transfer on the full range of water-cycle business lines to 4500 employees working for the state-owned company.
The five year national deal forms part of a programme launched by the authorities in the Republic of Azerbaijan to improve water and sanitation infrastructure across the country.
The contract is structured around two key areas: training in the water business lines will be given in Azerbaijan and France for high-potential executives, while operation training will also be arranged for the teams in their workplaces.
It marks the start of a partnership which could be further extended to other priority areas, such as soil remediation, particularly in areas contaminated bny hydrocarbons.
Speaking at the contract signing, Jean Louis Chaussade, Chief Executive Officer at SUEZ commented:
