Yorkshire Water tenders c £17.2 million AMP8 contract for water mains pipeline renewal in Sheffield

Yorkshire Water has gone out to tender with an AMP8 contract for water mains pipeline renewal in Sheffield with a total estimated value of approximately £17.2 million including VAT.

 The water company is looking for a single supplier to renew 39,818m mains pipeline in the Sheffield area over 12 months.

Current estimated start and end contract dates are 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2028.

Deadline for submission of enquiries about the tender is 4:00pm on 21 August 2026 and tender submission deadline is 4:00pm on 4 September 2026. Estimated contract award decision date is 3 November 2026.

The water company is running a competitive tender procedure with a reduced timeline and aims to conclude the tender procedure in ~6 months.

Conditions of Participation (CoP), Contractual Compliance, Quality Questionnaire Commercial Workbook will be launched at the same time. However, scoring of the Quality Questionnaire and Commercial Workbook will only happen if CoP is passed.

There are different submission deadlines for the different elements of the tender procedure, which is expected to formally start on 27 July 2026 as follows:

  • Conditions of Participation (CoP 2 weeks) on 7 August
  • Contractual Compliance (2 weeks in initial phase 1) on 7 August
  • Commercial Workbook (6 weeks in initial phase 1) on 4 September
  • Quality Questionnaire (phase 1) on 4 September

 

Conditions of Participation (CoP,), Contractual Compliance (, Quality Questionnaire (6 weeks in initial phase), Commercial Workbook will be launched at the same time. However, scoring of the Quality Questionnaire and Commercial Workbook will only happen if CoP is passed.

The overall score will consist of 70% of Commercial Workbook scores and 30% of Quality Questionnaire scores, and 2 rounds of Commercial Workbook submissions will be required.

The tender documents will be provided via Ariba, the utility’s designated sourcing platform. Alternatively, they will be provided via email or cloud services.
