The Environment Agency has set out its requirements for the procurement of an Enterprise Asset Management system, providing the supply chain with an early headsup of a forthcoming £24 million tender.

The Environment Agency (EA) is seeking to procure an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, which is sufficiently flexible to deliver ISO 55000 compliance and asset management capabilities, utilising current and future technologies.
The Agency will be seeking suppliers that can potentially provide an EAM system which meets the following needs:

- Preference for a unified platform; integrated solutions also acceptable
- Suppliers must support migration of existing records with metadata tagging
- Enable file retrieval using metadata and spatial context
- Solution must allow full export of files, metadata, and configurations to avoid vendor lock-in
The Agency’s objectives for the EAM are:
- Implement an asset management system that is compliant with the Institute of Asset Management’s (IAM) – An Anatomy.
- Create a single source of truth supporting the entire asset lifecycle.
- Enable accurate, trusted Business Intelligence.
- Achieve ISO19650 and ISO55000 compliance.
- Improve file/data accessibility, storage, sharing, and user experience.
- Enhanced data governance and risk mitigation (e.g., reduced security and legal risks).

- Support carbon reduction and improved sustainability through streamlined practices
The EA is highlightimh that the planned procurement is subject to internal governance and approvals, reserving the right to alter any aspect of the planned procurement before going out to tender.
