Southern Water has awarded an AMP8 contract for potable and waste water lab testing services worth an estimated £28.724 million (excl VAT).

The contract was tendered in four separate Lots – Lots 1 to 3 required the tenderers to courier potable water samples from Southern Water collection points to their testing facilities and analyse potable water samples. Lot 4 covered the couriering of waste water samples from Southern Water collection points to their testing facilities and analyse waste water samples.
At the time of going out to tender the water company said its intention was to award either Lot 1, or Lots 2 and 3, depending on the efficiencies that could be provided through having one accountable supplier for all potable water testing services.
