Southern Water has awarded AMP8/9 contracts to nine companies across thirteen new contracts to boost wastewater removal performance and operational resilience across its region with a potential total value of £1.09 billion.

The framework encompasses key services, including:
- Wastewater Reactive and Planned Tankering
- Grit and Screening Recycling
- General Waste Disposal
- Specialist Waste Disposal
- Cake Management and Spreading.
The total value of the combined contracts will be approximately £138 million per year, with contracts due to start in 2025 for a four-year period, with an option to extend for an additional four years into AMP9, taking the potential spend with these suppliers to approximately £1.09 Billion.
The winning firms appointed to the framework are:

- Biffa Waste Services Ltd
- BioMarsh Environmental Ltd
- Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd
- Countrystyle Recycling Ltd
- Envirovue (Asprey St John & Company Ltd)
- FGS Organics Ltd
- Lanes Group Ltd
- MTS Cleansing Services Ltd
Southern Water’s Head of Contractor Service Delivery, Mike Chapman said:
“This strategic framework agreement will play a vital role in supporting our business and operational demands and achieve enhanced resilience throughout the next Asset Management Period (AMP8).
“We also have a layered approach to the frameworks contracts, where core work will be carried out by primary suppliers and supported by a pool of secondary suppliers, providing greater resilience.”
The partners will be responsible for delivering essential waste removal services. From responding to emergency call outs to carrying out essential site scheduled waste removal. The providers will work collaboratively with Southern Water to meet the service levels expected by customers and will help the utility to deliver on its environmental improvement ambitions for years to come.

- Planned and reactive tankering and waste services for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight – Lanes Group Ltd
- Planned and reactive tankering and waste services for Sussex – Lanes Group Ltd
- Planned and reactive tankering and waste services for Kent – MTS Cleansing Services Ltd
- Secondary reactive and planned tankering - MTS Cleansing Services Ltd, Lanes Group Ltd, Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd, BioMarsh Environmental Ltd, FGS Organics Ltd
- Specialist waste – Envirovue (Asprey St John & Company Ltd)
- General waste – Biffa Waste Services Ltd
- Planned intersite cake – Countrystyle Recycling Ltd
- Biosolids – ACS (Austin Contract Services Ltd)
- Grits / screenings – MTS Cleansing Services Ltd
