Dwr Cymru Welsh Water is seeking supply chain input ahead of going out to tender with multi-million pound AMP8 contracts for its Wastewater Networks potentially worth up to an estimated £256 million in total.

Welsh Water intends to initiate a tender process to secure the delivery of associated works on its Wastewater Networks from November 2025 for up to 8 years.
The water company is currently reviewing the precise structure, and nature of works to be undertaken, to both enhance, maintain and extend its current wastewater network assets.
Welsh Water has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice to launch a market engagement exercise before issuing a contract notice which is currently expected to be later this year. The objective of this market engagement is to test our approach and assess its alignment to the market offering, to help DCC prepare for procurement.
The main areas of works are split into 4 separate Lots as follows:
Lot 1 North Wales Wastewater Network Repair & Maintenance & Network Operating Services - £10.5 million per annum
Services to include:
- Wastewater network apparatus repair and maintenance.
- 24/7 standby service.
- Planning and scheduling provision.
- On-site investigation works.
- Sewer rehabilitation
- Working on or near pressurised pipelines.
- Wastewater network operating services.
- Cyclic desilting activity.
- CCTV investigation.
- Response to flooding and pollution incidents.
- Maintenance and minor repairs of mechanical screens.
Lot 2 - Hereford, Powys & Gwent Wastewater Network Operating Services - £1.5 million per annum
Services to include :
- Wastewater network operating services.
- 24/7 standby service.
- Planning and scheduling provision.
- Cyclic desilting.
- CCTV investigation.
- Response to flooding and pollution incidents.
- Maintenance and minor repairs of mechanical screens.
- Minor sewer rehabilitation.
Lot 3 – Southwest, Swansea, Valleys & Cardiff Wastewater Network Operating Services - £5 million per annum
Services to include:
- Wastewater network operating services.
- 24/7 standby service.
- Planning and scheduling provision.
- Cyclic desilting.
- CCTV investigation.
- Response to flooding and pollution incidents.
- Maintenance and minor repairs of mechanical screens.
- Minor sewer rehabilitation.
Lot 4 - South Wales, Hereford & Powys - Repair and Maintenance - £15 million per annum
Services to include:
- Wastewater network apparatus repair and maintenance.
- 24/7 standby service.
- Planning and scheduling provision.
- On-site investigation works.
- Sewer rehabilitation
- Working on or near pressurised pipelines.
- Maintenance & Minor repairs of mechanical screens.
Welsh Water is seeking to procure a minimum of two separate contractors across Lots 2 and 3.
The water company expects to go out to tender with a formal contract notice in October 2024
Welsh Water is inviting interested suppliers with experience of any of the works to participate in its market engagement process by registering their interest via the emails below by 17:00pm on Friday 19th July 2024.

In response to enquiries, the utility will provide a copy of its Information Memorandum which includes further details on programme opportunities and a short questionnaire. Welsh Water said it may contact organisations who have submitted fully completed questionnaires to arrange one-to-one meetings in July.
