Anglian Water has gone out to tender with an AMP7 contract for a sewer network visualisation platform with an estimated value of £14.25 million.

Scope of the contract covers the provision of visualisation, alerting and reporting on sewer network performance, including blockage prediction, and EDMs.
The water company said its expenditure and level of demand is currently unconfirmed – however, it currently has 76,000km of sewers, 3000 existing sensors and further scale-up planned (an estimate of 20,000 sensors with potential to expand if the business needs).
According Anglian Water, the proposed visualisation system,will be able to:
- identify and predict blockages or restrictions within our network, using AI and machine learning.
- identify and report on EDMs and spill status
- visualise, report and alert on data from a variety of sources in the network.
- identify sensors that aren't working properly.
- have regulatory reporting functionality.
Initial contract term is two years with further extension options available.
