Yorkshire Water has gone out to tender with an AMP8 contract for nitrogen purging, digester maintenance & design of biogas systems with a total estimated value of £20 million.

The water company is looking to put a framework agreement in place for the supply of services for nitrogen purging, digester maintenance and design of biogas systems.
The contract is being tendered in the following two Lots:
Lot 1 - Supply of Nitrogen Purging Services (£4 million)
Covers supply of Nitrogen Purging services on Yorkshire Water assets including sludge digesters, biogas storage and ancillary systems. Lot 1 will include both planned and reactive works.
It is expected that the contractor will take on Principal Contractor role as defined in the CDM regulations.
Lot 2 - Supply of Services for Digester Inspection, Preparation, Maintenance, Refurbishment and Design of Biogas Systems (£16 million)
Covers planned activities to enable the internal inspection and repair of digesters, including digester decommissioning & recommissioning and related minor structural and mechanical repairs. Lot 2 will also include the design works to facilitate the re-design, new build or re-positioning of assets connected to YWS biogas systems. Nitrogen purging activities relating to works under this lot will be awarded within Lot 2.
Bidders will be able to tender for a single Lot or both Lots together if this represents the most economically advantageous tender. The initial contract term is 36 months with two possible 24 month extensions.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 30 January 2023 – click here to access the tender documentation.
