Scottish Water awards £5.8m contract for supply of dataloggers

Scottish Water has awarded a contract for the supply of data loggers worth an estimated £5.8 million –the contract was awarded without prior publication of a call for competition.

The water company has a legacy installed base of Halma (HWM) and Technolog dataloggers which use proprietary connections to operate with Scottish Water’s existing telemetry system. Scottish Water was unable to procure alternative dataloggers that could communicate with its top-end telemetry system without significant investment.

The purpose of the new contract is to allow the utility to meet current requirements until a new top-end strategy is in place.
