Scottish Water awards £60m self-drive plant hire services contract

Scottish Water has awarded a contract for managed operated service and self-drive plant hire services worth an estimated £60 million in total.

Under the contract the supplier will provide a comprehensive end-to-end managed hire desk service 24/7, 365 days a year. The contractor will be required to provide small tools and plant hire and also engage with Scottish Water’s supply chain for all operated plant hire and car and commercial vehicle hire to support its capital and operational delivery programmes.

The provision of operated plant but provide their own equipment for all major self-drive plant items including excavators, road rollers, dumpers, access equipment, air tools, compressors, cleaning, compaction, concreting, road working, safety and non-mechanical generators.

Gateshead-based firm GAP Group Ltd has won the work - initial contract term is 4 years with 4 further annual extension options.
