The Ministry of Defence has gone out to tender with a contract for provision of underwater engineering services worth up to £6 million.
The Salvage and Marine Operations Team, part of UK MOD, delivers underwater engineering services for Royal Navy Ships and Submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary Ships and MOD Training Vessels both within the UK and overseas.
The team have a requirement to contract for a 2- year framework agreement (plus a further one year extension option, for the provision of global commercial diving services.
Service activities covered under the contract will include:
- classification society in-water surveys
- inspection
- hull blanking
- repair and replacement of ship hull fittings and fixtures
- wet welding
- coating repairs
- propeller polishing
- hull fouling removal
Estimated value of the contract is put at between £3 million to £6 million.
