£36.1M Southern Water contract win for Israeli company

Southern Water have awarded a contract for the supply of AMR meters, meter reading services and data hosting services to a company in Israel.

Arad Limited of Doar Dalia in Israeli won the framework agreement to supply Southern Water in competition with three other companies. The contract, worth £36 million, is the largest in finanancial terms ever won by the company.

Arad will supply Southern Water with integrated water meters with wireless meter-reading systems (AMR). Under the terms of the contract Arad will provide Southern Water with water meters every year to the value of £7.1M over the five year period, with an option to order additional integrated water meters with wireless meter-reading systems (AMR) at the end of the Supply Period for an additional period of 5 years and under similar terms.

The formal signing of an agreement for the supply of the water meters took place on 1 February 2010.
