Welsh Water's Energy team is in the process of securing a new agreement for natural gas to replace its existing agreement which expires 31st March 2018.
At present, Welsh Water has 17 natural gas supplies to 15 sites (2 office sites have dual gas supplies) with an approximate annual volume of 800 000 Therms in term of import. Current export volume is 340 000 Therms per annum – however, the water company is anticipating that this will rise to 1 000 000 Therms in terms of export over the contract duration.
Estimated total value of the contract is £4.8 million and anticipated start date is 1st April 2018.
