Yorkshire Water has gone out to tender with an AMP8 contract for floating pontoon hire services with an estimated total value of £4.8 million including VAT.

The water company is looking to establish a multi-Lot framework, the scope of which is to provide a service for the hire, installation and de-mobilisation of modular floating platforms used to provide a safe method of working on or near water.
The scope also covers ncluding any ancillary equipment including:
- temporary handrails
- edge protection
- anti-slip decking and rescue equipment and any other associated services - full transport logistics, specialised layout design, installation/anchoring and buoyancy calculations.
Activities could include access to undertake construction projects, inspection work, vegetation removal, repair & maintenance work and water sampling.
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 1 February 2027 to 31 January 2032 with further possible extension options up to 31 January 2035.
The contract is being tendered in the following Lots:
Lot 1. Clean Water Pontoon Hire (£1.92 million inc VAT)
Delivery, installation and de-mobilisation of modular floating platforms used to provide safe water access in clean water environments.
Lot 2. Waste Water Pontoon Hire (£2.88 million inc VAT)
Delivery, installation and de-mobilisation of modular floating platforms used to provide safe water access in waste water environments.
Under the framework operation pricing will be requested on a project-by-project basis and will be evaluated based on cost, availability and ability to deliver to the project scope.
Deadline for submission of enquiries about the tender is 11:59pm on 16 September 2026 and deadline for requests to participate is 11:59pm on 7 October 2026, Estimated contract award decision date is 15 January 2027.
The procurement is being conducted via the Competitive Flexible Procedure - the process will consist of a Conditions of Participation Questionnaire and a Tender (ITT). Only suppliers that meet the conditions of participation requirements will have their tenders evaluated.
A second round of tendering will be conducted, and, if required, the authority may proceed to a third and final stage (Best and Final Offer (BAFO) round).
