Prater Ltd has been awarded a contract for the complete building envelope on the £63 million redevelopment of Southern Water’s Woolston Wastewater Treatment facility.
Prater is one of the UK’s leading specialist contractors, delivering high quality and cost effective design and installation services for the complete building envelope.
In a separate project, Prater installed the largest curved green roof in the UK at the water company’s Peacehaven water treatment works.
The 4D alliance was awarded the Woolston WTW Redevelopment Scheme in August 2014– a four year, £63m project running throughout AMP6 to rebuild the wastewater treatment works.
The redevelopment of the site by 4Delivery will conform to stricter standards for water recycled into the environment. The complex geometry of the roofing and cladding design will require a tailored solution provided by the BEMO Monro standing seam system, which will produce the required shape and intended finish.
Prater’s work will begin on site during summer 2017 with the project due for completion in 2018.
