Scottish Water has awarded a framework contract for the provision of Ductile Iron pipe and fittings worth an estimated £18 million to Chesterfield-based firm Electrosteel Castings (UK) Ltd.
The supplier will be required to provide a full range of DI pipe and fittings to support Scottish Water requirements for the delivery of its quality and standards IV Capital investment programme for the regulatory period 2015 - 2021.
The framework agreement covers both operational and capital requirements. Subject to satisfactory reviews the framework could be further extended into the next regulatory period.
Electrosteel Castings were one of six companies in the bidding for the work. The firm is part of the Electrosteel Group which is headquartered at Kolkata in India.
