Anglian Water is putting plans for a new £4.5 million water treatment works due to be constructed near to Mattishall, Norfolk on display today for local residents and businesses.
A planning application has been submitted for the new facility on land adjacent to the current site. Work is expected to begin in the summer and be completed by spring 2015, pending planning approval.
Antony Innes, from Anglian Water, said:
“Parts of the treatment works in Mattishall have been there since the 1940s and while the site has been regularly refurbished, more work is now needed to ensure we can continue to serve the local area with clean, drinking water for many years to come.”
“The construction of a brand new treatment works, using a similar design to the original, is the most cost effective way of making sure this is the case and that water supplies are resilient for the future.”
