Scottish Water has put a massive £150 million contract fo the provision of electro-mechanical repair and maintenance services out to tender.
The framework will run for ten years, with an estimated annual value of between £10 million to £15 million.
Scottish Water wants to set up a strategic Alliance Agreement with one or more providers that will bring value and efficiency throughout the supply chain. The strategic Alliance Agreement will be for a period of up to 10 years made of a fixed initial period and extension options, with an anticipated start in early 2012.
Up to four companies will be selected for the framework agreement, which will cover the whole of Scotland, including the Highlands and Islands.
Scottish Water‘s operational area is divided into 4 geographical regions: East, North, South and West. The framework will be awarded either as a pan Scotland Alliance partnership(s) or regional based Alliance partnership(s).
The services to be provided under the agreement include:
- reactive operational E&M maintenance at treatment works and pumping stations
- planned operational E&M maintenance at treatment works and pumping stations
- instrumentation control automation and telemetry systems
- general E&M services
- project and programme design management
- quipment surveys and condition assessment
- out of hours cover
- support to Project Aquatrine (MoD related work)
- market intelligence
- provision of additional services in relation to electro-mechanical repair and maintenance services.
The successful provider(s) must be able to provide all services required by Scottish Water using in-house resources and/or subcontractors.
