Thames Water is inviting suppliers to submit proposals for solutions covering water resources, demand management or leakage services for consideration in the upcoming Water Resources Management Plan 2024 (WRMP24) process.
The water company has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice related to an initial resources position statement (IRPS) which is due to be issued by Water Resources South East (WRSE) shortly setting out the water it anticipates will be required in the future across the South East region.

WRSE is an alliance of the six south east water companies, the Environment Agency, Ofwat, Consumer Council for Water, Natural England and Defra set up to develop long term plans for securing water supplies in the south east.
Thames Water said it is open to proposals for water supply options and demand and leakage services solutions for the upcoming strategic WRMP24 process to plan demand management and leakage solutions over an 80 year period to meet future needs, rather than a procurement exercise for these solution types.
If a third party proposal for a demand management or leakage service is a product or service that Thames is already delivering, the company is nonetheless open to being contacted to inform its current market awareness. If the proposal is not covered by its current activity, Thames would also be open to hearing third party proposals.
Suppliers who are interested in being involved in the Standard WRMP24 process will need to register their interest by 17th July 2020.
Any suppliers who want to respond to the PIN will need to complete an initial pre-qualification survey. They will also need to indicate whether they are interested in the standard or fast track process and whether you are proposing a water supply or demand management/leakage services solution.
Registered applicants who are proposing water resources solutions can either qualify individually or as part of a consortium/joint venture with other registered applicants.
