United Utilities is exploring the impact of environmental factors on the cost of delivering wholesale wastewater services.
The water company has awarded a contract for environmental issues consultancy services to Ove Arup & Partners.
United Utilities has set up the framework agreement in order to better understand the impact on costs of differences between regions and any relevant environmental factors — demographic, ecological, meteorological or any other external environmental factor.
United Utilities said the work would assist it in ensuring that the cost proposals for the delivery of wholesale wastewater services are efficient “relative to the varying challenges faced by all water companies.”
