A step change in the water industry is needed, and a collaborative approach to innovation is the key. That was the message to delegates at the Water Innovation Network ‘WIN Business in AMP6’ event in Peterborough recently.
Representatives of businesses large and small from across the UK attended the event to hear how changes in regulation will influence how Anglian Water works with suppliers over the next 5 years.
Anglian Water’s Director of Asset Management Chris Newsome, Head of Innovation Steve Kaye and Strategic Programme Leader Graham Fulton talked about how important investing in innovation will be in the years to come. They also highlighted the need for close collaboration in the industry in order to meet the challenge of new regulation and tackle issues such as population growth and climate change.
Amy Wilson, Head of Strategic Stakeholder Engagement at Anglian Water, said:
“We wanted to make sure businesses understand the changes that will affect the industry over the next five years and what this means when working with Anglian Water and other water companies. The Water Innovation Network is committed to supporting businesses to see mutual benefits for Anglian Water and its suppliers through a whole range of activities to communicate, challenge and collaborate.”
Anglian Water work in partnership with Peterborough’s economic development company Opportunity Peterborough to run the Water Innovation Network.
