Severn Trent Water to set out plans for £2m water pipes in Bilston

Severn Trent Water will set out its plans next week for a £2 million scheme to install new water pipes in the Bilston area of Wolverhampton.

According to Gareth Mead, spokesperson for the water company,  the water pipes in the Bilston area are now old and have started to leak, which could lead to interruptions in the water supply.

Severn Trent Water is now planning to invest £2 million to install around 12 kilometres of new water pipes in the area.

Severn Trent’s contract partner, Amey, will carry out the work, which is due to start at the end of February 2015 and is planned to take two months.

The company will hold a drop-in session on Tuesday 27 January where members of the project team will set out plans to local residents and identify potential opportunities to ensure the pipes are laid with the minimum impact.
