Waterbriefing is launching the first in a series of surveys looking at key operational and strategic issues during AMP6 – with a particular focus on the impact Totex is having on the water sector.
Waterbriefing would like to determine during the course of the surveys to what extent is a Totex approach creating a different mindset and prompting the water companies to re-examine current practice regarding the maintenance of existing assets.
This first survey looks at an area which is often seen as part and parcel of operating life in wastewater treatment plants – grit removal.
The survey is seeking to understand more about industry approaches to dealing with the impact of grit on wastewater treatment processes. It is also looking at the level of awareness around the effectiveness of grit removal processes and how they impact key isssues including treatment efficiency, maintenance costs, carbon and energy consumption.
The survey is being carried out in association with Hydro International – as international specialists in this area we’d like to thank them for their expert help and advice on the subject.
Waterbriefing is launching the surveys in the early stages of AMP6 to benchmark key issues surrounding Totex which we hope will encourage debate and discussion on topics we will revisit regularly over the next five years.
We’re keen to obtain as broad a range of views as possible from as many stakeholders as possible from all levels of the supply chain – so whether you work for a water company, a Tier 1 alliance or a contractor we want to hear from you. Whether you work in a treatment plant, a major project for the water companies, or you’re an equipment supplier who’s got views on the impact grit has had on your equipment and its efficiency – we want to hear from you.
Likewise, if you work in a water company, whether or not you have direct responsibility for a plant, you may have views on whether it is an issue which needs to be taken more seriously.
The survey is very straightforward and will take 10 minutes to complete - all responses will remain anonymous with the results published in a dedicated report available to download for everyone who takes part.
