Airport to use self-draining asphalt on runways

Costain is close to handing over a newly refurbished main runway at Manchester Airport, after using a new surfacing material for the first time on the UK mainland which is now attracting interest from other UK airports.

Dairy sets 25% water use reduction target by 2015

Robert Wiseman Dairies, one of the UK's largest milk suppliers, has set itself a target of reducing water use across its network of dairies by 25% by 2015.

Chemineer mixers save up to 85% energy

A comparison study has demonstrated that Chemineer impeller mixers can save up to 85% energy in anoxic zones. Taking a typical water industry site with a total tank volume of 2861 m3, the annual energy cost of Chemineer’s SC3 impeller was £1,804 compared to the annual energy consumption of £ 12,781 when using a submersible mixer.
