Environment Agency considers predictive analytical techniques to optimise flood assets management

The Environment Agency has started a project to look at how predictive analytical techniques can be used to optimise asset maintenance and operations.

The Agency wants to explore how data can be gathered from sensors deployed on flood asset components, and how the data can be then used to detect anomalies and trends as components degrade.

The ultimate aim is to complete a full prototype test of an end-to-end sensing and decision-support system which will be deployed on an Environment Agency owned pumping station.

It is anticipated that the contract for monitoring asset performance for maintenance optimisation will be awarded in January 2019, to be completed over approximately 42 months.

The Agency is planning to let the contract to a single supplier, a supplier with subcontracting arrangements or a consortium.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 30th July 2017 – click here to access the tender documerntation.
