The Environment Agency has completed a major flood scheme which will reduce flood risk for 333 properties and unlocks £75 million regeneration opportunities.

Welsh Water, the only not-for-profit water company in England and Wales, has been working with Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) on the completion of its new forward-thinking surface water drainage system to support the regeneration of the area and to ensure the drainage system is more resilient to cope with the effects of climate change.

South Tyneside Council has gone out to tender with a contract for civil engineering enabling works worth an estimated £20 million.

Work has started on a construction project to regenerate a historic riverside dock area in Hull and replace flood defences to better protect 2,000 commercial properties.

Construction works have begun on a £13.3 million flood defence scheme for the strategic £1.2 billion Lincolnshire Lakes regeneration project which will see six new lakeside villages created on a former flood plain.
