Shetland firm wins tidal turbines contract

A Shetland company will manufacture blades for a bank of tidal turbines that will power 300 homes, Deputy First Minister John Swinney announced today.

Milan-headquartered Salini Impregilo has won a € 260 million contract for the construction of the civil works for the Cetin main hydroelectric plant on the Botan river in the southeastern part of Turkey.

Specialist contractors are benefiting from increased workloads and rising tender prices according to the latest NSCC State of Trade Survey, but higher demand is putting increased pressure on an already overstretched workforce.

Thames Water has awarded a security services contract for the Tideway Tunnel  worth up to £50million to G4S Security Services (UK) Ltd.

Thames Water Utilities has awarded a contract for occupational health services  for the Tideway Tunnel worth up to £10 million to Duradiamond Healthcare Limited.

BAM International has won a major marine infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi worth £55 million (€70 million).

Huber Technology has been awarded the Northern Ireland Water Screens and Screenings Handling framework following a comprehensive and detailed tender process.

 

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has gone out to tender with a contract worth up to £10 million to establish an energy technical specialist framework, including hydroelectric and marine technologies.

Anglian Water has announced the final set of framework partners who will deliver around £200 million of work across the region during AMP6

United Utilities has gone out to tender with a contract worth up to £23 million to build an advanced Anaerobic Digestion plant at its Workington wastewater treatment works in Cumbria.
