The construction industry faces the largest change management programme since Victorian times if it is to meet the low carbon agenda, according to an industry report published today.

Investors responsible for the management of US$15 trillion funds have issued a statement calling for policies to unlock the vast potential of low-carbon markets and avoid economic devastation caused by climate change.

Mogden improvement work progressing well

Thames Water has made significant progress at Mogden Sewage Works in west London, which is undergoing a £140m upgrade to reduce the amount of storm sewage that overflows into the River Thames following heavy rain.

The water companies came in for sharp criticism yesterday for their ongoing failure to inform the public of their regular discharges of raw sewage into the country’s rivers.

Pennon Group, owners of South West Water and waste group Viridor, has published its latest half year results - with a strong start to the new 2010 – 2015 AMP5 programme.

Glas Cymru - the ‘not-for-profit’ company that owns Welsh Water on behalf of customers has published its latest financial results. The company said it had achieved good overall progress in the six months to September 2010, maintaining its strong financial position, whilst reducing customer bills and investing heavily to improve customer service
