Yorkshire Water has been praised by Yorkshire MEP Linda McAvan for its pioneering 'world-leading' work to restore huge swathes of damaged moorland and protect its drinking water quality through sustainable water catchment management.

The GBM joint venture of Galliford Try, MWH Treatment and Mott MacDonald, been awarded a suite of contracts worth £80m under its current AMP5 framework contract with Thames Water.

Water UK has said that industry regulator Ofwat is “wide of the mark” to suggest that the water companies don’t value water.

Black & Veatch have provided further details about the  £16 million Llwyn Onn rebuild contract.

Mott MacDonald has been appointed by SUE Vodokanal St Petersburg as technical advisor for the first Russian public private partnership (PPP) water supply project – known as the Neva water project.

Ofwat to investigate leakage failures

Water industry regulator Ofwat has today announced that it will investigate recent failures to meet leakage targets by a number of UK water companies. Ofwat said the failures sent a "poor signal" about how the companies value water.

A new report for the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) shows that renewable sources could provide at least 35% of the UK's energy capacity by 2020. 

Water industry regulator Ofwat has commissioned two independent reports on the role of “revealed customer behaviour” in providing evidence to support companies’ business plans.

Hydro_advanced_pressurised_in-line_SludgeScreenHydro International has been awarded a three-year framework agreement with Thames Water for sludge handling and processing equipment.  

Nestlé has this morning been named the winner of the Stockholm Industry Water Award for its leadership and performance to improve water management in its internal operations and throughout its supply chain.
