United Utilities has gone out to tender with a contract for the supply and delivery of covers, frames, surface and stop tap boxes and associated lifting equipment during AMP6, and potentially AMP7, worth up to £15 million.
The water firm is looking to appoint a maximum of four suppliers to the framework agreement, which could run for up to twelve years. Estimated total value of purchases for the entire duration of the framework agreement is between £10 million and £15 million.
The contract will commence on 1st Mar 2015 or earlier - where possible, existing contracts have been extended/naturally expire concurrently. The contract will run for a 6 year period with extension options up to a further 6 years.
The framework agreement covers the supply, delivery, off-loading, installation guidelines, testing, technical support and disposal requirements of covers, frames, surface and stop tap boxes and associated lifting equipment for water, wastewater, water networks and wastewater networks.
Successful suppliers will be required to act in collaboration with United Utilities Partners and other nominated parties to deliver covers and frames as part of the overall supply chain, including the firm’s Construction Delivery Partners and Network Maintenance Alliance.
Although not yet confirmed, United Utilities said it is likely that as part of the AMP6 delivery strategy, there will no longer be a logistics provider/central stores to where products will be delivered. Suppliers are therefore required to specify their means of distribution and site delivery within their response.
Deadline for submission of tenders or requests to participate is 2nd September 2014.
