Privately owned construction company J N Bentley has won a £7m+ contract from United Utilities for the construction of a new service reservoir.
The project, known as the Jacksons Edge SR Refurbishment, involves the design, build and commissioning of a new service reservoir, associated pipework / chambers, outfall and demolition of the existing reservoir at Disley, Stockport.
Four companies were in the bidding for the work, worth an estimated £7,487,000. The contract is likely to be sub-contracted out - the value of sub-contracted work to third parties will be around £5.24m.
Much of JN Bentley’s work is delivered through its subsidiary company, Mott MacDonald Bentley – the Skipton-based firm has a 75% share in the joint venture with Mott MacDonald.
